Queen Bee update

I have not done much or posted much at all. Still just mocking up and waiting for the engine guy (get well Ben) to start the engine review. There is alot I can do and I have been putting it off. Not sure about these bars. I will make a set of candy cane drags with a 7" rise and got to get to work on the tank mods.

A little mock up

Got the frontend on and man is that 6 or 8 over fork tubes!? I have the 2 over on order and that should bring things down a bit but still have a little kick. Need to make a race for the neck cause I want to run that XL/FX frontend and it is a 7/8" neck stem but the frame is a 1" neck. Yeah more work...alot more.

Got something done finally!

Took the Queen Bee over to my buddy Ben's place and welded on the hardtail this past week. Everything worked out well, we cooled the welds the whole time and it turned out great. You can see that one of the gaps on the bottom was wider than the other side but a little build up of the weld solved the problem. The frontend is a 6" over but I have a 2" over on the way so the nose will go down a little but keep a little bit of a kick up. Thanks Ben for the use of your machine, some beers and good company. More to come sooner than later I hope.

XLCH Magneto and Oil Tank

I can't believe it has been almost a month since I have done anything on here. Yes work has been crazy but that is no excuse. Well I did pick up some choice little parts for the "Queen Bee" and I really stoked about them. Patina and all for next to nothing thanks to tow truck Dave my neighbor. He has come through in a big way for me and the little scratch I threw at him will never be enough. Thanks Dave. Anyway the newbies to the build are an XLCH Fairbanks-Morse Magneto and XLCH oil tank, all original parts to the engine that I'm running. I still have to weld on the hardtail and get the front wheel laced to the up front drum and my engine guy Ben of Bens Cycle Shop has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. God speed on recovery and I wish you well. He is a great guy and humble about his wisdom...kinda like a Harley Yoda.

If you got one would you ever look this hardcore on it?

Tribute to Elvira "Mistress of the Dark"

Like most young lads who ever laid an eye on Elvira...I went nuts. Caught her show every weekend and stayed up too late. The 80's rocked hard, didn't they. Not to mention I think the pinball back glass is awesome artwork and it was a cool pinball game...one of my favorites.

Fathers Day post

Well happy Fathers Day to all the dads. I'm very greatful for my father and wanted to show everyone that he destroys, especially on the mandolin. Thanks Dad for your strength and support. (Ric Letzerich, far left) ca.1970 something.

Original Arlen Ness bike?

This XLCH was for sale last year in the San Antonio area. Seller claimed it was a Arlen Ness bike from the glory days. Neat looking digger anyway you slice it.

Killer scooter

I don't know who's bike this is, I think I lifted it from the Jockey Journal. Great stance and pretty clean looking. I'm a junky for original H-D parts and using them instead of aftermarket cheap crap. Dig the tank too...looks like original paint to me...Nice!

Frame alterations article

I don't remember where I lifted this from but it was worth it here it is. The last one is of a Vokes aftermarket oil filter set up for the British twins.

More nonsense

Progress on the neck and bars

So I got an order of parts the other day. Neck cups with Timken bearings. I had to shave a little off the underside of the neck in order fot the bottom neck cup to seat correctly but it worked like a charm. The bars are narrowed late model Superglide bars in the stock sporty 2" , chrome riser. I got a pair of new fork tubes and seals but it looks like I might want to kick up the front a little so I might need stock length of even 2" over tubes to get the stance. Any way still got to weld on the hardtail and get the motor to the motor guy.
